30 Positions in the Research Master Programme for the Winter Semester 2021/22
Application deadline: September 14, 2021
Master’s degree students and students of a teacher training programme (Staatsexamen) of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities can apply to participate in the Research Master programme of the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School. The Research Master programme is an integral part of the Graduate School and is designed for students, who – with a view to obtaining a subsequent doctoral degree – are already engaged in research while preparing for their university degree and wish to experience the current research being conducted in the fields of excellence of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Participants in the Research Master programme undergo intensive subject-specific training within the framework of the accredited Master’s degree courses offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The regular course curriculum is supplemented by professors from the Research Master-Kollegium of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the a.r.t.e.s. Research Lab, who provide courses within the a.r.t.e.s. module: the aim is to further interdisciplinary work while students are still studying for their Master’s degrees.
Announcement and Procedure
The programme is aimed at Master’s degree students interested in researching a subject offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities who have progressed no further than the second semester of their Master’s course (cf. list of participating Master programmes). Moreover, the programme is open for applications by students of the faculty’s teacher training programmes (Staatsexamen).
The Research Master students can take advantage of special advice and events offered by the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School and will receive a separate certificate after successfully completing the programme.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of the written documentation submitted and a review procedure at the end of the summer semester. It is the aim of a.r.t.e.s. to promote graduates who have speedily completed their Bachelor’s courses with excellent results and who have a particular interest in research-orientated studies.
