Funding for International Doctoral Workshops at the University of Cologne
The a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School offers doctoral students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities the opportunity to form their own academic network early on in their research and to enter into direct exchange with international scholars. To this end, the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School provides funding for the planning and implementation of public workshops, colloquia, and conferences by and for doctoral students which are focused on internationality and interdisciplinarity. Travel, accommodation, and catering costs are elligible for funding. Public relation costs and, in individual cases, lecture honoraria may also be funded through this opportunity. All enrolled doctoral students of the Faculty of Humanities are eligible to apply.
The application deadlines are June 1st and December 1st each year.

To apply for a funding the following documents are required:
- an outline of the research topic and main questions the conference or workshop you are planning wishes to address (3 to max. 5 pages) as well as a preliminary programme (including the names of the international guests you would like to invite)
- a list detailing the project plan to organize and carry out the conference from the time of the grant application until the planned date of the event as well as a list of all persons involved in the management of the event
- a detailed budget (please note that funding applies to travel, accommodation, and catering costs, for expenses regarding public relations and, in individual cases, honoraria, please see the information sheet)
- proof of current enrolment as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of at least one of the applicants.
