The current doctoral regulations of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne came into force on July 7, 2025, and apply to all doctoral candidates in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The doctoral regulations can be downloaded in our download section.

The University of Cologne's guidelines on good academic practice and dealing with academic misconduct are based on the recommendations of the Committee of Academic Self-Regulation (“Selbstkontrolle in der Wissenschaft”) of the German Research Foundation (“Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft”, DFG) and those of the German Rectors' Conference (“Hochschulrektorenkonferenz”, HRK) with regard to the management of academic misconduct.
