Peer Programme

International doctoral students who come to the University of Cologne can take part in the peer programme of a.r.t.e.s. international. Another doctoral student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities helps the international student become acquainted with his or her institute and research environment and assists him or her in all questions surrounding staying, working and living in Germany (for example on accompanying him or her to authorities or searching for accommodations).

This programme is offered in close cooperation with "Albert's International Assistance", the support centre of the UoC’s International Office for international guest scholars, and the International Office of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

International doctoral students can also turn to the UoC’s Albertus Magnus Graduate Center (AMGC) for offers such as German courses or an invitation to the informal doctoral student "Stammtisch"” (regular’s table).

Would you like to receive support from a peer? Or would you like to serve as one? Contact artes-international(at) for further information.

"a.r.t.e.s. international – for all" is promoted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
