Preparatory Scholarships

To ensure a quick transition from Master’s or similar degrees to doctoral studies, the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne is offering eight “Predoc” scholarships to help candidates prepare for their doctoral studies within six months, starting October 1st. The application can be submitted by April.

As the graduate school of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne also encompasses a Research Master Programme and a Research Lab for the postdoc phase. The new scholarships for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation projects allow for a quick transition from Master’s to doctoral studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to develop and focus a doctoral dissertation project during one semester. Taking part in the a.r.t.e.s. colloquium, which all scholarship recipients are cordially invited to, moreover offers the opportunity to become acquainted with other projects being pursued at the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School early on.
