Equality

The a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School attaches great importance to its comprehensive equality measures. Women, doctoral students with children and first-generation university graduates receive special support, for example childcare offers and financial assistance.

Factors that can delay academic careers – starting a family, caring for sick or elderly relatives, training periods or physical disability – are taken into account in the selection of applicants.

The Equality Board of the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School comprises representatives of all a.r.t.e.s. departments and the Gender Equality Officer of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and advises the a.r.t.e.s. Directorate and all scholarship holders and collegiates on any aspects relating to equality issues.

The interdisciplinary and independent study group Doktorand*innen Netzwerk Gender und Queer provides an opportunity for all doctoral students of the university to exchange on gender-related research.
